Directions
The direction of a painting always changes.
One image would appear then gets replaced by another.
Many words pass through in my mind.
The picture gets turned sideway or flipped up side down.
Sometimes I lose a direction completely, and have to put the painting aside for awhile.
Then, one day, while I'm working on the other pieces, all of the sudden I could see the next step clearly.
When that happens, it's fun.
作品がどういう方向に進んでいくのか、描いている途中も常に変化する。
いろいろなイメージが表れては消え、多くの言葉が心の中をよぎる。
画面は横になったり、上下が逆になったりしながら進んでいく。
作品によっては先が見えなくなり、そのまま手がつけられなくなることもしばしばある。
そんな時はしばらく横においておき他の作品を描き進めるようにしてるのだが、ある日突然次のステップが見えてくることがあるから面白い。
