個展が近づき制作の合間の額作りが忙しい。
額は作品を引き立たせてくれたり、移動の際には作品の保護にもなる。
固いポプラの木材を使ったシンプルな額は合板のパネルがそってしまうのを防ぐ役目もしてくれる。
もうずっと自分の作品の額は自分で作るようにしているが、木工もなかなか面白いものである。 人任せにして時間や出来具合を気にするよりも、自分でやってしまった方がよっぽど気が楽でもある。
It has been busy making frames for the shows in between painting.
Frames are not only good to show the paintings better, but also they can protect paintings when you transport them. And using hard poplar they can support the wood panels preventing from warping.
I've been making my own frames for years now, and enjoying the woodworking. It's so much easier to have total control to myself than leaving it someone else and worrying about deadline and quality.

neonさんのブログではコラボレーションのようにして額装された作品の写真を見せていただきました。 共同作業の中からできてくる面白さもありますよね。
近い将来、東京でも個展ができたらと考えています。
